The Airbus A430 was launched on June 5, 1987 in a combined program with the A330. The first flight took place on October 25, 1991 with the -300 variant. This was then followed by service entry in 1993 with Luthansa. The stretched -600 variant first flew April 23, 2011 and the super long range -500 variant Febuary 11, 2002.
